I'm a wife, mom, and author who empowers women to remember who they are while igniting their life's passions beyond the bounds of their comfort zones!
My husband Vince and I have three girls - 8 year old twins Brynn and Piper, and 2 year old Jordan. Learning foreign languages is a strength of mine, so in addition to studying engineering, I decided majoring in French at The United States Military Academy at West Point, NY was a terrific idea! I graduated in 2001 from the Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and earned a Master of Science in Management of Technology from Murray State University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University’s Teachers College in the years to follow.
After serving as an Active Duty Army Officer for 10 years, I decided to transfer to the Army Reserves and now have a combined total of 18 years of service. Having a set of twins made that a no brain-er decision for us. The Army Reserves is a really good fit for our family and provides more flexibility in terms of me being available for our children. I will say this though, some days I feel like mom-hood is a heck of a lot tougher than most things I've done in the Army! Soldiers are on duty 24/7 and so are moms. The only difference is I'm only one person deep until Vince gets home at the end of the day and when he travels. Working in the home has given me the opportunity to begin my flat-vending (stickers and temporary tattoos) fundraising (for non-profit organizations) business and to work on book writing projects.
